Last Thursday evening, we received the unexpected news from David that Annie was beginning labor and that they would be on their way to the hospital. Although Annie’s due date was August 29, I was pretty convinced that the baby wouldn’t arrive until later in September.
I was wrong. Our beautiful Olivia Hazel Curlee was born on August 27th at 11:50 am. Because of Covid, visitors were prohibited at the hospital. We didn’t get to meet Olivia until Saturday evening after David, Annie, and Olivia had returned home.
Monday was my birthday and we again saw little Olivia. I realized that there was nothing more special to me on my birthday than holding Olivia! I also received many thoughtful texts, calls, cards, emails, and Facebook wishes on Monday. It was a wonderful day.
One card in particular made my day. Little Olivia was able to leave her footprint since she couldn’t sign her name. Her father might have helped her a little.
What else happened in the last few days? Tom and I also went to Beyond Van Gogh at the Anaheim Convention Center. It’s a fantastic, immersive art experience and will be at the Convention Center for another week or so. I had been hoping for a number of weeks to go, but there were too many things going on this summer.
Here are a few random pictures from that amazing show.
Hope you have had a happy week as well!
Congratulations Again !!!
What a great ‘gift’ having a granddaughter
Have fun spoiling her!
The pics of the Van Gogh exhibit are great . .. thanks!
Thank you!
Congratulations!
Thanks, Mike!
What a week indeed! Nothing beats the joy of holding a grandchild! So happy for you, Tom, David and Annie! God bless all of you and this new little life!
We could not be happier about this new life, Kim, as I’m sure you are about your little guy. It’s such a fun time!
Congrats, Grandma! Happy for all of you. Wonderful you’re so close and will have many precious moments together!
The Van Gough exhibit is coming to Seattle next. We’re hoping to be memerized by it also!
Thanks, Sue! We are very happy that we can see Olivia often. David and Annie live about fifteen minutes away. As for the Van Gogh exhibition, you will really enjoy it. In this area, Monet will be next, but I don’t believe that the dates or place have been revealed yet.
BEST birthday gift ever
I won’t argue with that, Kim! Olivia is such a sweet baby.
